'Another look back. This time I take you with me to Japan. I visited the main island of Honshu in 2019. Japanese cuisine is often characterized by a lot of fish. The reason for this lies in the past of the tradition-rich country. For more than a thousand years, the inhabitants of Japan were forbidden to eat meat and slaughter animals. Fish and seafood were the exception. Besides fish, rice, noodles (e.g. udon, soba) and lots of vegetables are also staple foods of the Japanese. Soups (e.g. ramen, miso) are very popular. Many ingredients are served raw. A fresh, delicious and healthy cuisine! The sushi is truly excellent. Sooo good! And everywhere you go you\'ll find plenty of snacks. Onigiri (a stuffed rice dumpling wrapped in a nori seaweed leaf), for example, are perfect for on the go! For dessert you eat mochis (nowadays also very popular in Europe) and drink green tea with it. Or japanese light beer.
